Details of Gunfire Incident in Vanadzor: Knife, Axe, and Shell Casings Found
In connection with the criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia in the Lori province, local police and investigators have revealed certain details about the gunfire incident that occurred in Vanadzor on February 29.
According to shamshyan.com, the incident involved a confrontation between 29-year-old Vanik Ayvazyan, a resident of Tavrosi Street in Vanadzor, and 35-year-old Aghasi Tatulyan, a resident of Yerevan Street in Vanadzor. The two had arranged to meet at the vicinity of Shiraki Highway 12/1, where their conversation escalated into an argument, resulting in A. Tatulyan striking V. Ayvazyan.
Following this, 22-year-old Henrik Gasoyan, a resident of Khnzores, who had previously been convicted under Article 112, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and is currently wanted under Article 258, Part 4, along with 28-year-old Armen Khalapyan, a resident of Builders Street in Vanadzor, inflicted bodily harm on A. and E. Opkyan with sharp and cutting instruments. A. Opkyan's father, 48-year-old Ashot Opkyan, also a resident of Tavrosi Street in Vanadzor, fired a shot at S. Derzanyan with a legally-owned 12mm caliber hunting rifle, causing him bodily injury.
On March 1, following explanatory work conducted by the police of Lori province and the Taroni division of the police, A. Opkyan voluntarily presented himself to the Lori regional investigative administration. Investigators also discovered the firearm used in the crime, which, according to G. Shamshyan's information, is legally registered under A. Opkyan's name.
The police and investigators of the Lori province are undertaking necessary operational and investigative measures to locate H. Gasoyan, A. Tatulyan, and A. Khalapyan.
Earlier, it was reported that gunfire had erupted in Lori province on February 29. At the scene, blood-like traces, a knife, an axe, and 8 shell casings from a 12mm caliber firearm were found.
