31-Year-Old Daughter-in-Law Strangles 75-Year-Old Mother-in-Law in Ararat Province
A call was received by the Masis police department from the Masis Medical Center, reporting that a medical team had been dispatched to a house on Kamo Street in the village of Hovtashat, where they discovered the body of a woman. According to shamshyan.com, police and investigators determined that the deceased was 75-year-old Sona S., who, according to preliminary information, had died suddenly.
Under the directive of the investigator, several examinations were ordered, including a forensic examination of the body. Before the forensic doctor could examine the body, Ararat province police and investigators had suspicions that Sona S. did not die of natural causes, and hours later the forensic doctor informed law enforcement that she had died from asphyxiation.
Throughout the subsequent hours, Masis police and investigators conducted necessary operational and investigative joint actions, resulting in the apprehension of 31-year-old Gayane Z., a resident of the same address, on suspicion of committing the crime. It became clear that on the same day, around 8:00 AM, Sona S. and Gayane Z. had argued over household issues, during which Gayane Z. strangled the 75-year-old woman.
According to G. Shamshyan's sources, the person arrested on suspicion of murder is the daughter-in-law of the victim.
