If There Are Armenian Citizens in Iran Who Wish to Return, Can They Apply to the Embassy? – MFA
The latest airplane carrying Armenian citizens from Tehran arrived in Yerevan yesterday. Citizens were concerned due to circulating misinformation that the activities of the Armenian embassy in Iran had been suspended.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan, informed SHANTNEWS that the embassy is operating in emergency mode.
“Regarding the operation of the Armenian embassy in Iran, we would like to inform you that the entire staff of the embassy continues its regular activities, including providing 24-hour services to our citizens and taking all possible measures to address the issues faced by them. As you know, there is a round-the-clock hotline at the embassy, maintaining constant contact with our compatriots in Iran. A temporary decision has been made to suspend consular appointment and reception functions to ensure the effective implementation of the aforementioned activities, which will be fully restored after certain technical organizational measures are carried out,” she stated.
“Even the personal mobile phone numbers of embassy staff are available, posted on the embassy's social media pages, and accessible on the embassy's website, and there is also an email through which our citizens can contact the embassy. They can visit the embassy to present their issues. This suspension only applies to these two functions to ensure an effective connection with our citizens,” she added.
In response to the question of whether Armenian citizens in Iran who wish to return can apply to the embassy, Anna Naghdalyan replied, “Of course, they simply need to inform the embassy about this, and all possible steps are being taken by the embassy to address these issues.”
