Ecuador Records First Coronavirus Case

Ecuadorian authorities have confirmed the first case of coronavirus in the country. The patient is in critical condition, said Health Minister Catalina Andramuño.

“We can confirm the first case of coronavirus in our country. It concerns an Ecuadorian citizen who arrived from Spain on February 14,” the minister stated in a broadcast on the El Comercio portal.

The woman arrived in Ecuador without showing any symptoms of illness, but began to feel unwell in the following days. She is over 70 years old and is in serious condition.
