Youth Stab Each Other, Injured Individual Taken to Hospital

On February 27, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 1:50 PM, the police department of Arabkir received a call from the "Mikaelyan Surgical Institute" stating that a young man had been transported to them by the emergency medical team with a diagnosis of "punctured-cut wound to the chest."

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the operational group of the Arabkir police department, headed by the head of the juvenile affairs division and an investigator from the investigation department, was dispatched to the hospital. The police established that the injured individual is 21-year-old Samvel Z., a resident of Kotayk Province, who sustained the injury at the "Arabkir Humanitarian College."

While doctors were providing assistance to the injured, the Arabkir police, led by department head Armen Vatyan, undertook necessary operational measures. They discovered that earlier that same day, at around 12:30 PM, a conflict had erupted over a personal matter near the college, during which Yerevan residents, 23-year-old Raphael M., 18-year-old Armen M., and another individual had argued with Samvel Z. During the altercation, they struck various parts of his body with their hands and feet, and one of them had stabbed him in the right chest with a sharp cutting-piercing object.

Hours later, thanks to explanatory work conducted by officers from the criminal investigation and juvenile affairs divisions of the Arabkir police department, Raphael M. presented himself to the police. The Arabkir police later discovered the weapon used in the crime, a knife, in the yard of building 3 on Nairi Zaryan Street.
