Hot Discussions Are Underway in Parliament Rooms

According to the "Fact" newspaper, heated discussions are currently taking place in the parliament regarding the upcoming four-day session. The legislative package concerning so-called vetting changes and the project on the confiscation of property of illegal origin will be up for discussion.

Sources from the parliamentary newspaper have reported that the authorities have quite "delicately" packaged these projects and have embedded another risky project, which will effectively replace the widely criticized project on amendments to the law on banking secrecy, which was adopted by the National Assembly and sent for presidential signing.

It should be noted that President Armen Sarkissian did not sign this project and sent it to the Constitutional Court to examine its constitutionality. Since the circulation of this project, it has triggered considerable sharp criticism and commentary from professional circles, as it contains serious and deep risks.

Now an attempt is being made to have a backup option in case the Constitutional Court declares the said law unconstitutional, to have something “on hand.” According to the newspaper, substantial discussions are currently occurring in the parliament rooms on this topic.
