EU Expands Sanctions Against Turkey
The European Union (EU) has decided to expand the sanctions imposed against Turkey. This decision comes as Turkey conducts illegal drilling activities in search of oil and gas reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean, reports ermenihaber.
In an official announcement published in the EU's official journal, it is specifically stated: "Due to the continuation of illegal drilling activities in the Eastern Mediterranean, two individuals have been placed on the blacklist." The individuals on the blacklist are Turkish citizens who participated in the illegal drilling operations conducted by Turkey in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Cyprus.
The sanctions include freezing any potential real estate belonging to these two Turkish citizens within the EU and banning their entry into EU territory.
