Case Against Babloyan and Babayan Referred Back to Prosecutor's Office
The criminal case against former National Assembly President Ara Babloyan and former Deputy Chief of Staff Arsen Babayan has been sent back to the Prosecutor's Office by the Special Investigation Service for the third time. This information has been reported to the media by the Special Investigation Service.
Previously, the Prosecutor General's Office did not approve the indictment in the case of Ara Babloyan and Arsen Babayan, sending it back to the Special Investigation Service for further investigation, stating that it disagreed with the qualification of the crime.
Specifically, according to the Prosecutor's Office, charges should be brought not for usurping the powers of the Constitutional Court, but for abusing official powers.
It is noteworthy that Ara Babloyan has been charged under Articles 308 Part 2 and 314 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, while Arsen Babayan is charged under Articles 38-308 Part 2 and 314 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
