Arrests Made, More Controversial Arrests to Come: NSS Director
The Director of the National Security Service (NSS) addressed journalists in a briefing, discussing why the change in leadership did not lead to personnel changes, what has changed in the agency's operations, and how they are combating fake accounts. Regarding the criminal case opened against the user of the 'Diana Grigoryan' fake account, the NSS director stated that in addition, three other criminal cases have been initiated against different users.
“There have been personnel changes and there will be more. However, I have not executed a personnel purge because the NSS is an organization where such a purge cannot be conducted. This structure is staffed with professionals. They carry out their tasks with a strong sense of responsibility,” said the NSS director.
Eduard Martirosyan also spoke about combating satanist and other religious organizations, stating: “Any satanist or other religious movement that threatens our national security, we will fight against it.”
Regarding new arrests, the NSS director noted: “There have been arrests, there will be new ones; this is an ongoing process. Criminal cases have been initiated against almost everyone. This circle will expand, and there will be more controversial arrests.”
