Price of Medical Masks Rockets in Van Due to Coronavirus
In the southeastern Turkish province of Van, the demand for face masks to protect against the coronavirus has led to a sharp increase in their prices, rising by 150 percent. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.
The cost of disposable face masks, widely sold in Van, has risen from 2 Turkish Lira (160 AMD) to 5 Lira (390 AMD), while the price of masks with filters and designed for a week's use has surged from 10 Lira (770 AMD) to 20 Lira (1550 AMD). It is noted that the significant increase in mask prices in Van is due to the high demand and insufficient supply in pharmacies.
