The founder of 'Garun Agency', which presented the winning 'Yes' logo, is out of the country and therefore unavailable

Yesterday, during a fundraising event hosted by the 'Civil Contract' party, the 'Yes' campaign logo was chosen. However, from early morning, one of the most discussed news items in the Armenian internet was that the logo is stolen. It was the 'Yes' logo from the 1991 independence referendum.

The organization 'Garun Agency', which submitted the logo to the competition, was supposed to receive 3 million drams as the first prize winner. After receiving information about a copyright violation, Vahagn Aleksanyan, the public relations coordinator of the 'Civil Contract' party, announced on his Facebook page that the situation surrounding the logo winning the 'Yes' branding competition is being discussed.

“Friends, I find it necessary to inform you that we are discussing the situation regarding the logo that won the 'Yes' branding competition. We will announce once we have a decision,” wrote Aleksanyan.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan published the 'Yes' logo from the 1991 independence referendum on his Facebook page with the caption: “The original author is being sought.”

'Armenian Time' tried to reach representatives of 'Garun Agency'. The only phone number listed in the 'Spur' information system was unavailable. Later, we managed to find another phone number, where the person who answered confirmed he has a connection with 'Garun Agency', but only to the extent that he is a friend of the organization's founder. He reassured us that the founder is in Russia, but on his way to Armenia. “I believe he will be in Armenia today or tomorrow; he will respond to you,” said the man who answered our call.

At the same time, he added that 'Garun Agency' is a new organization, established about a year and a half ago, during which time it has had numerous orders, and no client has been dissatisfied.

We will inform you about what 'Civil Contract' decides after the discussions are completed, who will receive the stipulated 3 million drams, and what attitude will be adopted towards the “authors” of such an unpleasant uproar at the start of the 'Yes' campaign.
