No Cases of Coronavirus Detected in Artsakh

The government of Artsakh reports that, considering the increase in acute respiratory infections and flu cases in the republic and the instances of coronavirus infections in neighboring countries, several measures have been implemented under the leadership of the State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh and with the participation of various departments to prevent the entry of the coronavirus and maintain a stable epidemiological situation in the republic.

• Discussions have been organized regarding the epidemic situation of the virus and the measures being taken in the Republic of Artsakh with the participation of representatives from interested organizations.

• There is operational communication between the Ministries of Health of Artsakh and Armenia. A group has been dispatched from the Ministry to the relevant Armenian counterpart to familiarize itself with the latest developments, obtain information about new preventive measures, and necessary materials.

• According to the agreement between the Ministries of Health of Artsakh and Armenia, responses to samples sent from Artsakh are received operationally. Based on the data provided by the Ministry of Health, all responses to date have been negative. No cases of coronavirus have been detected.

• Daily monitoring is being conducted in general education and preschool institutions. According to current criteria, if absenteeism exceeds 28 percent, there is a need to temporarily suspend activities. As of today, classes have been suspended in 93 out of 232 schools, and all preschool institutions have halted operations to prevent further spread of acute respiratory infections.

• The Republic of Artsakh is supplied with necessary medications and medical supplies.

• The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture, Youth Affairs, and Tourism have developed a guideline recommending that the public refrain from business and tourist visits to China and countries with reported cases of coronavirus, as well as from organizing tourist visits from those countries to Artsakh.

• Explanatory work continues among citizens regarding avoiding the coronavirus and acute respiratory infections, emphasizing not to endanger their health. The Ministry of Health regularly publishes information on official and social platforms.
