March, Protest. The Armenian Community of Los Angeles to Commemorate the 105th Anniversary of the Genocide
The Armenian community of Los Angeles will collectively commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on April 24, organizing a series of memorial events. According to 'Aparaz,' participating organizations are joining forces to hold a commemoration ceremony for the sanctified martyrs, demanding justice and reparation.
Among the participants are the United Armenian Council of Los Angeles (UACLA), United Young Armenians (UYA), and the Armenian Genocide Committee (AGC), which includes the Armenian Apostolic Church, Armenian Catholic Church, and Armenian Evangelical Church, as well as the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Social Democrat Hunchakian Party, Ramgavar Liberal Party, Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenian Youth Federation, Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region, Armenian Assembly of America, Armenian Bar Association, Istanbul Armenians Union, Armenian Relief Society, HMEM, and other organizations.
The program includes a pilgrimage to the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Montebello, where representatives of the organizations will lay flowers at the site. This will be followed by a justice march starting from Little Armenia in Hollywood and proceeding to the Armenian Genocide Memorial plaza. The day will culminate with a united protest in front of the Turkish Consulate, where the community will once again raise its voice, demanding justice and compensation.
