Coronavirus Reaches Brazil and Germany
First cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Germany and Brazil. As reported by Folha de San Paolo, on February 25, the Brazilian Ministry of Health announced a possible case of coronavirus infection in the country. A preliminary test taken from a 61-year-old patient tested positive and was then sent to a specialized institute for confirmation.
In Germany, the first case of coronavirus infection has appeared in the western part of the country, according to WDR broadcaster. The infected individuals are a married couple living in the North Rhine-Westphalia federal state. The first patient was a 50-year-old man who reported to a hospital in Erkelenz, and his condition is serious; he is connected to a ventilator.
It should be noted that nearly 2,500 people have been infected with the coronavirus outside of China.
