Trump Asks for Additional $2.5 Billion to Combat Coronavirus
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has requested an additional $2.5 billion from Congress to combat the new coronavirus.
This was stated in an announcement by the White House's Office of Management and Budget, as reported by Reuters on February 25.
“Today, the administration is sending Congress a proposal aimed at securing an additional $2.5 billion in funding to accelerate the development of vaccines and acquire necessary equipment and supplies,” said a representative of the administration. At the same time, more than $1 billion is intended for vaccine development.
Trump has announced on Twitter that the situation regarding the coronavirus is under control. “The coronavirus is under control in the U.S. We are in contact with all countries connected to the virus,” wrote the U.S. leader.
