Temporary Limitation on Communication with Iran Comes into Effect

The decision of the Government of Armenia to temporarily limit communication with the Islamic Republic of Iran has come into effect. This was reported to Armenpress by the Health and Labor Inspection Authority of Armenia.

Accordingly, ground and air communication with the Islamic Republic of Iran has been restricted for a two-week period, allowing only:

1. In the case of ground communication:
• a. Entry into the Republic of Armenia for vehicles transporting goods from the Islamic Republic of Iran, where entry is permitted only for the vehicle driver and a substitute driver;
• b. The return of citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the Republic of Armenia back to the Islamic Republic of Iran;
• c. The return of citizens of the Republic of Armenia from the Islamic Republic of Iran back to the Republic of Armenia;
• d. The entry of officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran, arriving on official visits to the Republic of Armenia, along with their accompanying persons;
• e. The entry and exit of staff of diplomatic representations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia and their family members.
2. In the case of air communication, entry (return) of the persons specified in points b-e of the first sub-point of this decision is allowed.

No suspicious symptoms have been recorded at the Meghri border medical and sanitary control point.
