Samples Taken from Patients with Acute Upper Respiratory Infections in Artsakh and Sent to Armenia
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh reports that continuous monitoring of patients with acute upper respiratory infections is ongoing. This information comes from the Ministry of Health of Artsakh.
Monitoring is also being conducted for children attending all public education and preschool institutions operating within the republic.
Since February 20 of this year, there has been an increase in both outpatient visits and calls for emergency assistance related to acute respiratory infections.
In response to this situation, a recommendation has been submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Sports of Artsakh to follow the requirements set in point 66 of Chapter 16 of the order No. N225-N from November 6, 2015, issued by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Artsakh, concerning 'Epidemiological Surveillance of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections in the Republic of Artsakh'. This states that educational institutions should be closed to organize response and preventive measures when there is simultaneous 25% absenteeism due to flu and acute respiratory diseases.
During the past week, in line with the requirements of the aforementioned order, public educational and preschool institutions across the republic were closed for two days, on February 21 and 22.
Currently, in contrast to last week’s data, taking into account that the high incidence of the disease is not being recorded in all regions and villages, operations have been suspended for the public educational and preschool institutions that were affected by the order's requirements.
The Ministry of Health of Artsakh urges the population not to panic, assuring that the situation is under control. On February 24, samples were taken from a group of patients and sent to the Republic of Armenia for diagnostic confirmation. It is important to note that as of today, no cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the republic.
