New Director of Library System Threatens to 'Break Employees' Legs'
For several months now, a tense situation has developed at the Library System Public Non-Profit Organization in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan. Since yesterday, Shamshyan.com has received numerous alerts from citizens claiming that they have loved visiting this library for many years as readers but are now unable to do so due to the tense environment created by the newly appointed director.
Library employees have reported that the new director has poor relations with everyone, to the extent that her husband has threatened to break the legs of the staff. “Without any warnings, she decided to dismiss the entire team with a single stroke of her pen while we all feel that because of her incorrect and unprofessional management, the library’s reputation is suffering. We protested, demanding her resignation. After that, the persecution began, not to mention her contemptuous treatment of us,” said the employees.
They demand that the Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, and Deputy Mayor Tigran Virabyan address the issue.
