Number of Deaths from Coronavirus in China Reaches 2,592, Infection Cases at 77,150

As of February 24, local time in China (February 20, 20:00 Yerevan time), a total of 77,150 confirmed cases of Covid-19 coronavirus have been reported, with 2,592 fatalities, according to the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China.

In the past 24 hours, the number of infected individuals has increased by 409, while fatalities rose by 150. Among the deceased, 149 were from Hubei province, the epicenter of the outbreak, with one additional death reported in Hainan province.

Currently, 49,800 individuals are receiving treatment in hospitals, with more than 9,900 in critical condition. In Wuhan city (the administrative center of Hubei), 195 cases of re-infection have been recorded. Meanwhile, over 24,700 people have recovered and been discharged from medical facilities.

On the previous day, 97 people died from the coronavirus in China, and 648 new cases of infection were confirmed, as reported by Interfax.
