Gunfire at the Residence of Turkish Religious Figure in Germany

In the German city of Heilbronn, gunfire was opened at the residence of Abdurrahman Atasoy, the secretary-general of the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs. According to Turkish sources, when Atasoy called the police, the German officer informed him that he was not their "only case" at that moment and did not go to the scene, reports Ermeni Haber.

In an interview with a Turkish media outlet, Abdurrahman Atasoy stated that despite his calls for help, the German police did not respond to the incident. "On the night of February 21-22, we heard gunshots in front of our house. There were 5 bullets near the front door. When we called the police, we were told, 'We have multiple cases, you are not the first or the last, you have to wait,'" Atasoy recounted.

According to him, the police only arrived at the scene on February 23 and began to investigate. It is noteworthy that earlier, 10 people were killed in shootings at two locations in the German city of Hanau, four of whom were Turkish. In connection with these incidents, the Turkish community in Germany has initiated a protest action in Hanau, attended by around 10,000 people.
