After Killing Her Husband, the Criminal Fired at His Wife and Children in Ejmiatsin
The regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in the Armavir region has revealed the circumstances surrounding a murder and attempted murder that took place in Ejmiatsin.
According to the Investigative Committee, on February 22, 2020, at approximately 11:20 AM, a resident of Ejmiatsin unlawfully shot at a fellow citizen with an illegally possessed AK-47 assault rifle, 7.62 mm caliber, with the intent to kill, resulting in the victim's death.
Subsequently, the same assailant fired at the victim's wife, aiming to unlawfully take her life, and also fired at their 6-year-old and 12-year-old minor children in a manner endangering many lives. However, the crime was not completed due to circumstances beyond his control, as the victim's wife, together with her children, entered their home, locked the iron door, and hid.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Article 104 (Murder) of the RA Criminal Code, the first part of Article 34-104 (Attempted Murder) under point 6 of the second part, and Article 235 (Illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosive materials, or explosive devices) of the first part. The suspect from Ejmiatsin has been arrested on suspicion of committing the aforementioned crimes.
Extensive investigative and other procedural actions are underway to clarify the circumstances of the specified incidents. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
