24-Year-Old Apprehended at Zvartnots Airport for Avoiding Military Service

Thanks to the operational and investigative measures undertaken by the Criminal Investigation Department of the police at the Zvartnots Airport, a 24-year-old suspect, Sargis K., was apprehended on February 22 at 23:00, following the arrival of the Novgorod-Yerevan flight.

According to the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, the young man had been wanted since January 12, 2015, by the Bazum Division, under Article 363, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to evading military service through mutilation, simulating illness, or through illegal means. The measure of restraint applied in his case is detention.
