There is no need to close the borders at this time, and it does not make sense, says Minister Arsen Torosyan
Health Minister Arsen Torosyan spoke about the coronavirus in a live Facebook broadcast. “We have no intention of hiding anything or jeopardizing the safety of our citizens. It is also important that risks are assessed based on objective criteria, rather than on the loud voices of our respected citizens. Just because some people are saying you should close the borders doesn’t mean that’s the right decision,” said Minister Torosyan.
According to him, there is currently no need to close the borders, and it does not make sense either; however, everything may change over time depending on the pace of the virus's spread. Torosyan also emphasized that the rate of virus spread has significantly decreased in China, which is considered the epicenter of the outbreak.
