Cameras to Be Installed in All Police Departments of Armenia by 2023

In a bid to eliminate instances of violence and torture within Armenia's police departments, plans are underway to install cameras in all departments by 2023. This announcement was made by Deputy Chief of Police Tigran Esayan during a press briefing following a discussion on the topic of "Strengths and Weaknesses of the Police Reform Strategy for 2020-2022" held on February 22.

Esayan mentioned, "A pilot program has already equipped 10 police units. We are currently facing issues related to internal legal regulations. Very soon, that process will be implemented. There are no financial or technical issues; all 10 departments are equipped with more cameras than initially planned."
