"Attempted State Coup: Several MPs' Phones Seized" Claims Denied by Special Investigative Service

The Special Investigative Service of Armenia has responded to a claim published in the media.

"We inform you that the information published in the February 22, 2020 issue of the 'Zhamanak' newspaper, stating that 'phones of several MPs have been seized in the framework of a case being investigated by the SIS' and that 'the criminal case pertains to the organization of an attempted state coup in Armenia,' does not correspond to reality. We clarify that such a case is not under investigation by the Special Investigative Service. We urge the media to refrain from disseminating unverified and false information," stated the SIS.
