The Catholicos Meets with Children from Syrian Armenian Families

On February 21, at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, welcomed children from Syrian Armenian families who have found refuge in Armenia. They were accompanied by Mr. George Barseghyan, the director of the non-governmental organization coordinating issues of Syrian Armenians.

Welcoming the children, the Catholicos offered his love and blessings, expressing gratitude to their parents and to all organizations that provide support and assistance to the Syrian Armenian families settled in Armenia.

His Holiness addressed with sadness the events that disrupt the normal life of Armenians residing in Syria, which have led to their forced displacement. However, at the same time, he noted the important fact that, amid the created situation, the Armenian community from Syria is directing its gaze and steps towards the motherland and settling on the sacred homeland.

During the meeting, the Supreme Patriarch engaged with the children through a Q&A session, learning about their daily lives, aspirations, and expectations for the future, assuring them that the Armenian Apostolic Church is ready to assist them in becoming inspired by their national spirit and integrating into spiritual and public life.

In conclusion, the Catholicos conveyed his best wishes to the visiting youth, praying for peace to be restored in Syria under the protection of God's right hand, and for the Lord's blessing to always accompany the entire Syrian Armenian community.
