Photographs: 102-Year-Old Pensioner Fends Off Intruder in England

A 102-year-old pensioner in England successfully thwarted an intruder who broke into his home with the intent to rob. According to Daily Mail, the incident took place in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

While the centenarian, John, was at home with his 97-year-old wife, Joanna, an unknown man knocked on their door under the pretext of checking the lights. The pensioner did not believe the excuse and refused to let the stranger inside.

However, the intruder forcibly entered the residence and struck the elderly man multiple times. The 102-year-old man also fought back, leading the thief to flee the scene. The senior citizen sustained some injuries in the altercation.

He reported that their home had attempted burglary two times in the past six months. On the previous occasion, the criminal posed as a gas inspector and stole a bag and wallet.
