Fog in Shirak and Kotayk Regions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 21 at 08:24 AM, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia. The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kariye Lake in the Aragatsotn region will remain closed for an indefinite period.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to cargo vehicles, while other types of transport can only navigate with difficulty. The Sotk-Karvachar road is also impassable for trucks.
Fog is present in the Shirak and Kotayk regions, as well as in the towns of Ashtarak and Talin in the Aragatsotn region. In the Syunik region, there are areas with black ice.
Information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Ministry of Emergency Situations indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for passenger vehicles but closed for cargo trucks. According to the information from the Russian side, there are currently 335 trucks accumulated on the Russian side of the border.
