Arsen Torosyan on Coronavirus in Iran and Iranian Entry to Armenia
Health Minister Arsen Torosyan stated on his Facebook page:
“Dear compatriots, we are monitoring the outbreaks of the new coronavirus and its spread worldwide, including in our neighboring Iran. We are also aware of the peculiarities of passenger flows from Iran to our country, including the upcoming Nowruz holiday. As additional anti-epidemic measures, control has been strengthened at the Meghri border checkpoint, as well as for passengers arriving by air from Iran to Armenia. Control is also being conducted throughout Armenia in all suspicious cases.
I would like to inform you that to date, there have been no registered cases of coronavirus infection in Armenia. I urge you to follow the official news from the Ministry of Health and to act accordingly.
I also ask you to follow these recommendations to prevent acute respiratory infections:
- ✅ Get vaccinated against seasonal influenza at your registered polyclinic,
- ✅ Avoid contact with people exhibiting flu-like symptoms,
- ✅ If you are sick, stay home, especially ensuring that children with flu-like symptoms do not attend school or kindergarten, and ensure consultation and treatment from a physician,
- ✅ If you are ill, call your local pediatrician, therapist, or family doctor and do not self-medicate,
