I Will Appeal the Inaction of the Special Investigation Service: Arsen Babayan

Human rights defender Arsen Babayan writes on his Facebook page, "Do you want to know the deplorable state of our law enforcement agencies? Let me explain.

Fact 1: I sent a letter to the Prosecutor's Office and the Special Investigation Service (SIS) regarding a crime committed in the National Assembly, where I presented numerous factual data that clearly indicate the existence of a crime. However, both agencies responded with letters claiming that no factual data was presented and therefore they could not investigate the circumstances mentioned in the application.

Fact 2: Narek Samsonyan briefly announces on Facebook that a criminal case is being initiated at the SIS. Suren Papikyan, during his live broadcast, calls for checking how supposedly secret information about him reached the "Hraparak" newspaper—stating that a case is being initiated at the SIS.

And these people insist they are not carrying out political assignments. Perhaps they say it while barely suppressing their laughter. But this is not a laughing matter; it is a tragic reality.

I provided numerous factual details in my letter, stating that it was impossible for a deputy to vote on a legislative proposal received on the 11th of the same month, when he simply could not have seen such a proposal as it did not exist. This fact alone fully obliges the law enforcement agencies to initiate a criminal case and carry out an investigation.

I will appeal the inaction of the SIS.

P.S. Afterward, you complain about the criticism from various circles.
