Actor Yervand Manaryan Has Died
The People's Artist of Armenia, actor, and screenwriter Yervand Manaryan has passed away. His granddaughter, Lilith Manaryan, announced this on her Facebook page.
“My grandfather, my dear, my lighthouse, may God illuminate your soul... I love you endlessly...,” she wrote.
It is important to note that Manaryan was born in Iran on August 10, 1924. In 1946, he moved to Armenia and studied at the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography. He worked as an actor and director at the H. Paronyan Musical Comedy Theatre in Yerevan and at the G. Sundukyan Theatre. From 1957 to 1959, he served as the chief director of the H. Tumanyan Puppet Theatre. From 1959 to 1961, he held the same position at the Goris Theatre. He later worked at the Yerevan Documentary Films Studio and the “Yerevan” Cinema Studio.
Manaryan wrote the screenplays for many well-known films, including “Tzvzhik,” “The Master and the Servant,” “White Shore,” and others.
