Video: Syrian Father Teaches Daughter to Respond to Bombardments with Laughter

The British newspaper The Guardian has published a poignant video that addresses the ongoing civil war in Syria and showcases how Syrians are trying to cope with the situation.

The protagonists of the video are a man named Abdullah Mohammad and his three-year-old daughter, Salwa. The father is attempting to teach his child to respond to the frequent sounds of bombardments with laughter instead of fear and tears.

It is noted that the family has moved from Idlib, the epicenter of military operations, to the Sarmada region. The father is trying to 'heal' his daughter from the trauma inflicted by the war by reassuring her that the sound of falling bombs is just part of a game. He tells her that every time she hears the sound of a falling bomb, she should laugh loudly.
