Resignations in the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces: New Names Circulate

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that during a consultation with the Prime Minister regarding the increase in military fatalities during peacetime, a political decision was made to dismiss several officials. Not taking action ahead of the referendum could hinder the chances of a "yes" victory.

It has been decided that the commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Karen Abrahamyan, will resign from his position. According to our sources, he submitted his resignation yesterday, but due to "technical" reasons, it has not yet been announced.

The name of his replacement is also known: Jalal Harutyunyan, the first deputy commander and chief of staff of the Artsakh Defense Army. The name of Tiran Khachatryan, the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, was also discussed, but last night, Jalal Harutyunyan's candidacy became more realistic.

Resignations are also expected for Major General Alik Aleksanyan, head of the Personnel Department of the Armed Forces of Armenia, as well as Arthur Baghdasaryan, the head of the Military Police.
