Jamanak: Haik Asryan Visited a Psychologist Before Being Deployed
“Jamanak” newspaper reports: Discussions and consultations among the heads of law enforcement agencies regarding the situation in the military occurred sequentially yesterday. Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan convened a meeting at the ministry after returning from a business trip and then hurried to meet with the Prime Minister.
Details have emerged from a closed meeting with Nikol Pashinyan. Specifically, the Prime Minister made remarks to the officials present regarding their individual shortcomings. All listened with their heads down.
It has been reported that the head of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Hayk Grigoryan, presented all the incidents to the Prime Minister one by one, noting that they are unrelated to each other.
According to information received by “Jamanak,” after the meeting with the Prime Minister, Minister Tonoyan is expected to take drastic measures at the Ministry of Defense, with a specific decision regarding the head of one of the departments—he will be dismissed from his position.
Additionally, new details have emerged from the incident involving officer Haik Asryan, who was killed by gunfire on February 14 in the frontline area. It turns out that he visited a psychologist before being deployed to the positions, but that did not prevent him from being given a weapon and sent to the front lines.
“Jamanak” inquired about the circumstances of the case from the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, Artzruni Hovhannisyan, who responded, “An investigation is underway; I cannot provide any further information.”
