Roads Closed and Difficult to Traverse in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 17 at 15:11, there are closed and difficult to traverse roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province remain closed indefinitely. The Vayk-Gorayk section is open for passenger vehicles but closed for freight vehicles.
At the 148th kilometer of the M-2 highway, there are 15 freight and 25 passenger vehicles stuck, while from the Gorayk side, there are 10 freight and 22 passenger vehicles.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for freight vehicles only, and there is black ice in certain sections. The intercommunity roads of Ashotq and Amasia, as well as the Sisian-Goris and Sotk-Karvachar (fog) roads, are difficult to traverse.
Snow has been observed in the Tigranashen bends in the Syunik Province (except for the city of Meghri), in the town of Jermuk in the Vayots Dzor Province, in the town of Chambarak in the Gegharkunik Province, and in the towns of Dilijan, Ijevan, and Noyemberyan in the Tavush Province. Snow is also present in the cities of Abovyan, Yeghvard, and Hrazdan in the Aragatsotn Province, and in the cities of Stepanavan and Tashir in the Lori Province. There is fog on the road leading to Tavush.
