Commemoration of Ukrainian Victims of Plane Crash Held at Armenian Church in Iran
On the fortieth day following the crash of a Boeing-737-800 in Iran, a memorial service was held in Tehran to honor the Ukrainian victims. The ceremony was attended by Sergey Burdilyak, Ukraine's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was reported by Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, on his Facebook page.
"We laid flowers at the site of the Ukrainian plane crash and lit 11 candles at the Holy Savior Cathedral (Armenian Apostolic Church). Let us remember everyone individually: Vladimir Gaponenko, Sergey Khomenko, Alexey Naumkin, Maria Mikityuk, Ekaterina Statnik, Igor Matkov, Denis Likhnin, Valery Ovcharuk, Yulia Solohub, Olga Kobyu, and Elena Malakhova," Danilov wrote.
According to sources, from February 15-17, Oleksiy Danilov is visiting Iran to discuss problematic issues surrounding the crash of the Ukrainian plane.
