Greco-Roman Wrestler Karen Aslanyan Wins Bronze Medal at European Championship
Greco-Roman wrestler Karen Aslanyan has won a bronze medal at the European Championship. In the wrestling competition taking place in the Italian capital, Rome, Aslanyan competed in the 67 kg weight category and secured the bronze medal after defeating Hungary's Krisztián Vanczai with a score of 7:5.
Aslanyan began his fight from the qualification round, where he defeated Sweden's Oskar Erlandsson with a score of 3:1. He then advanced to the round of 16, where he overpowered Georgia's Giorgi Shotadze with a score of 9:0. In the quarter-finals, the Armenian wrestler triumphed over Serbian Mate Nemesh with a score of 10:1. However, he faced a defeat in the semi-finals against Russia’s Nazir Abdulaev.
This is not the first medal for Karen Aslanyan, as he had previously won bronze medals at the European Championship in 2018 and 2019.
