Truck Overturns Due to Poor Road Conditions
Today, February 5, a major traffic accident occurred in the Shirak region. Around 11:00 AM, a DAF truck with license plate DL 504 LD, driven by a citizen of the Republic of Georgia, overturned on the 156th km section of the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra highway under currently unknown circumstances. Fortunately, according to preliminary information from photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, there were no casualties.
Emergency services, including members of the 2nd Company of the 2nd Battalion of the Road Police, led by Battalion Commander Vache Malakyan and Platoon Commander Lyudvig Ghandilyan, quickly arrived at the scene. The senior investigator of the same battalion, Davit Asatryan, is conducting the investigation on-site, and materials are being prepared on the incident. The police are working to identify the driver.
According to the photojournalist, the road was passable, and local road workers had timely cleared the roadway of black ice and performed maintenance work.
