Blizzard and Low Visibility on Yerevan-Sevan Highway

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 4 at 17:20, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia. The Vardenyats Pass is experiencing a blizzard, while the roads leading to the villages of Verin and Nerk'in Shorja, Ayrk, and Akhpradzor in the Gegharkunik region, as well as the roads to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn region, are closed to all types of vehicles.

The Sotk-Karmir Jugh road is also under blizzard conditions, and the Kuchak-Yeghegnadzor and Kuchak-Jrambar roads are difficult for all types of vehicles to pass. There are patches of black ice on roads in Shirak and Syunik regions, in the Aparan area of Aragatsotn region, and on the Yerevan-Sevan road.

In Yerevan, snow is falling in the Tigranashen bends, in Shirak, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor regions, the city of Spitak in Lori region, and in the Saravan-Zanger-Sisian section. Blizzard conditions are reported in Gegharkunik and Shirak regions, the Tsaghkadzor area of Aragatsotn region, and on the Aparan-Kuchak and Yerevan-Sevan roads.

At the 57th km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway and the section leading to Tsovagyugh, there are blizzard conditions and low visibility. Fog has been reported in the Saravan-Zanger section.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed to freight vehicles, with 590 trucks currently waiting on the Russian side.
