Operation 'Genatsvale' and the Stolen Car of the Georgian Ambassador
On February 2, police officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan Police revealed the case of the theft of the car belonging to the Georgian ambassador in Armenia.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the police apprehended 22-year-old Gegham S. from Yerevan on suspicion of committing the theft.
It was determined that one day earlier, he had stolen the side mirrors from a Mercedes E220 with license plate 14 D 001 AM, which was parked in the yard of 27 Tumanyan Street.
Following this incident, materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the central police station.
According to G. Shamshyan, the vehicle's license plates are registered in the account of the Georgian embassy in Armenia and are meant for the ambassador's use.
The police are taking necessary actions to recover the stolen items. G. Shamshyan also noted that the police operation has been named 'Genatsvale.'
