In Kotayk, Several Injured in Accident, Including Two Contract Soldiers

On February 2, an accident occurred in the Kotayk region. At around 10:40 AM, on the Yerevan-Sevan roadway, near the Northern bus station, the vehicles driven by Sergey J., 23, in a GAZ 24 with license plate 43 SS 560, and Razmik G., 29, in a Mercedes with license plate 35 CM 223, collided.

According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, both drivers and a passenger of the Mercedes, Karen M., 35, a resident of the Kotayk region, were taken to the Abovyan medical center with injuries.

Citizens were the first to aid the injured, and the doctors of the Abovyan Medical Center acted swiftly, providing first aid to the victims on the scene before their transfer to the hospital.

Officers from the first platoon of the third company of the second battalion of the traffic police arrived at the scene, under the command of Battalion Commander Arthur Petrosyan and Platoon Commander Tigran Kotanjyan.

Senior investigator Avetik Avetisyan led the investigative work at the scene, and materials are being prepared regarding the incident.

According to sources, the driver of the Mercedes and his passenger serve as contract soldiers in the RA Ministry of Defense's military unit N, and following the collision, the Mercedes veered off the roadway and ended up in the grassy area of the median.
