The President of the Supreme Judicial Council Welcomes EU High-Level Delegation
The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Ruben Vardazaryan, and Council member Vigen Kocharyan have received a delegation led by Vasilis Maragos, head of the Directorate for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, as well as the Eastern Partnership division. This was reported by the press and public relations service of the Supreme Judicial Council.
The meeting was also attended by Dirk Lorenz, Deputy Head of the Bilateral Relations Division of the Eastern Partnership, EU Ambassador to Armenia Andrea Victorin, and other EU representatives.
Welcoming the guests, the Council President emphasized the importance of effective, open, and direct cooperation with the Council and partner international organizations to make the implementation of comprehensive judicial reforms more effective.
Vasilis Maragos expressed gratitude to the Council for the reception and inquired about the current state of the judicial reform process. Ruben Vardazaryan noted that the Council is interested in ensuring the effectiveness of reforms and is taking all necessary steps in this direction.
The meeting also discussed issues related to the technical support for e-justice, the necessity of rapid implementation of the system, and alleviating the burden on the courts. At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the need for further cooperation.
