Video: Gagik Khachaturyan's Nephew Released on 20 Million Dram Bail by Court Decision
Gagik Khachaturyan's nephew, Karen Khachaturyan, will be released under a court decision on January 22, upon posting a bail of 20 million Armenian drams. This was stated by Khachaturyan's lawyer, Amram Makinyan, during a conversation with reporters.
It should be noted that the National Security Service had submitted a request to extend Khachaturyan's detention period by two months, while Khachaturyan's attorney had requested his release on bail, as reported by News.am.
“This is a somewhat delayed, but also a very correct decision in terms of justice made by the court. We do not only talk about the negative; we also record the positives. In fact, the court made a brave and legal decision in this respect,” said the lawyer.
Makinyan emphasized that there were no grounds for keeping Karen Khachaturyan in custody: “We can state that Karen Khachaturyan has been in custody for about 5 months. From the very first day, we presented all the arguments and justified that there was no need to keep Karen Khachaturyan in custody.”
