Serzh Sargsyan Observes Chess Championships
The third president of Armenia and the president of the Armenian Chess Federation, Serzh Sargsyan, visited the Tigran Petrosian Chess House on January 15, where the 80th anniversary championship for men and the 75th anniversary championship for women started on January 12 this year, according to the press service of the Armenian Chess Federation.
Serzh Sargsyan observed the ongoing championships, which will conclude on January 20. The men's and women's championships in Armenia are being held in a round-robin format over 9 rounds. Out of 10 participants in the men's tournament, 9 are grandmasters. The women's tournament also features 10 chess players, including 2 grandmasters, 2 international masters, and 2 FIDE masters.
The champions of Armenia will be included in the national teams.
