Video: Ajapnyak Mayor Built a $100-150 Thousand House, Activist Claims
The mayor of Ajapnyak, Gevorg Babayan, has crossed the line, according to activist Arsen Nikoghosyan, who made this announcement during a Facebook live stream.
“This is not the first time that he approaches people in an aggressive manner and speaks poorly to them. A few days ago, there was a large adult woman selling flowers on the sidewalk across from the complex, who has a disability. They wanted to take away her stand; it’s street trading, and clearly, people went to the municipality to present documents explaining that the woman is disabled. The mayor dismissively stated, ‘Enough of exploiting this; enough of saying you are disabled.’ That woman left the room in tears,” he noted.
The activist vowed to do everything possible to have Gevorg Babayan removed from the position of Ajapnyak mayor. “Mr. Babayan, you and your ilk came to power thanks to us; you did not make a revolution. I’m addressing this satirical government, one of whose culprits I am for bringing you to power. This is not the first case where the mayor of Ajapnyak has spoken poorly to people. I want you to sue me, to present evidence of how you built a house in six months, how your brother won tenders, and how $20,000 went missing from the Ajapnyak Foundation. All of this, which you keep quiet about, I will present to the public. Back when the Republican Party of Armenia was in power, such things didn’t happen; who gave you the right to tell residents that they are exploiting their disabilities?”
“Does Nikol know that the mayor of Ajapnyak, Gevorg Babayan, has built a $100-150 thousand house? Why didn’t he build that house when he was a laborer back in the day? At that time, people didn’t even recognize him,” he added. “Gevorg Babayan, I promise you, I will get you removed from that position.”
