Extraordinary Incident in Yerevan: Rescuers Save 20-Year-Old Girl Who Fell from 7th Floor and Landed on Neighbor's Clothesline
On January 10th, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 17:10, the emergency management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report that a resident from the 7th floor of a high-rise building on Surenyants Street in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district had inadvertently fallen and landed on a neighbor's clothesline on the 6th floor.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the emergency response teams from the 5th and 8th fire and rescue units quickly arrived at the scene along with an aerial ladder. An operational group from the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, led by group chief Arthur Veliyan, also arrived on site.
The rescuers safely lowered the 20-year-old K. A. with the help of the aerial ladder and special ropes, and transferred her to the ambulance that had arrived on site. Medical personnel provided first aid and transported her to the number 1 university hospital.
The police's Kanaker-Zeytun division also arrived swiftly, led by the commander of the 6th unit of the Patrol Service, Hrachya Arzumanyan. A rescue psychologist was also working at the scene. Investigative materials are being prepared in the Kanaker-Zeytun police division regarding the incident.
