Man Commits Suicide by Hanging on Building Roof

A tragic incident occurred in the Aragatsotn region today, January 1. At approximately 15:05, emergency services received a call notifying them of a man's body found hanging on the roof of a building located at 60 Sambat Shahazizi Street in the town of Ashtarak.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, local police officials, including Vahan Aghgashyan, the head of the Aragatsotn regional police department, and Arthur Mkrtchyan, the head of the Ashtarak police division, arrived at the scene. A firefighting and rescue unit from Ashtarak also responded with one combat unit.

Authorities discovered the body of 37-year-old S. Aslanyan on the roof of the specified building. Investigators from the Aragatsotn regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee are currently working at the scene. Materials are being prepared in connection with the incident. Following the investigator's instructions, several examinations have been scheduled, including a forensic examination of the body.
