Photos: Two Minors Stabbed Near Driving School
On December 29, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 01:45, the Martuni Medical Center reported to the Martuni Police Department that two boys had been brought in with bodily injuries, including stab wounds.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Martuni Police Department, led by the department head Stepan Hakobyan and his deputy Garik Geraimsyan, headed to the hospital. Police established that the injured were 16-year-old Samvel D., diagnosed with "cut-penetrating wounds to the anterior surface of the chest and right arm," and 17-year-old Shahen M., who was diagnosed with "cut-penetrating wounds to the temporal region of the head and the anterior wall of the left half of the chest."
According to doctors, the boys had been in surgery at the time, making it impossible to provide details about the incident. The photojournalist reported that while the doctors were fighting for the children's lives, Martuni police, taking necessary operational-investigative measures, determined that the boys had argued with 20-year-old Nairy Martirosyan, 20-year-old Narek Samvelyan, and 21-year-old Samvel Avetisyan, all residents of Martuni.
Police also established that the argument-physical altercation-stabbing occurred near the driving school in Martuni, where N. Martirosyan used a folding knife to attack Samvel D. and Shahen M.
Thanks to the explanatory work carried out by the criminal investigation and community police departments of the Martuni Police Department, today the suspects N. Martirosyan, N. Samvelyan, and S. Avetisyan have presented themselves to the Martuni Police Department. The knife, which served as the instrument of the crime, was also recovered by the police.
