Car Leaves Road, Crashes Into Concrete Barrier and Rolls Over Several Times; One Fatality
On December 30 at around 00:50, M. Sargsyan, a 25-year-old resident of Balakhovit village, lost control of his VAZ 21134 vehicle with license plate 01 CC 013 on the road between Dzorahbyur and Mayakovski village. Under still unknown circumstances, he veered off the driving lane and collided with a concrete barrier, overturning the vehicle several times.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver, M. Sargsyan, died on the way to the Abovyan Medical Center without regaining consciousness.
A unit from the Road Police's second battalion, third company, including the company commander Artur Petrosyan and squad commander Tigran Kotanjyan, arrived at the scene. An operational group from the Kotayk district police, led by department head Khoren Barkhoyan, also responded promptly.
The incident was reported to the investigative department of the Kotayk regional investigative committee by the head of the Road Police 1-77 operational management center, Karen Gyulumyan. An investigative team, led by senior investigators Sos Sedrakyan, Tigran Bagyan, and Husik Karapetyan, was dispatched to the scene.
Materials are being prepared by H. Karapetyan regarding the incident. Sources indicate that the driver, who was injured, was found by doctors outside the vehicle.
