Sewing Factory Employees Lock Factory Door, Prevent Owner from Leaving

Employees of a newly opened sewing factory in Alaverdi have gone on strike. They stopped working at 12:00 and are demanding their wages from the employer, Karen Dasoyan, the director and 50% shareholder of "Cotton" LLC.

It should be noted that since November 11, "Cotton" LLC has opened a sewing workshop in Alaverdi. However, the employees have yet to receive any salary for either November or December.

Currently, 150 women are inside the factory and have locked the doors to prevent the director from leaving until their wages are paid. The employees are demanding at least their first salary for November.

However, the employer has offered to pay each of them 20,000 drams in salary, which the employees have rejected. In an interview with "Hetq," Karen Dasoyan stated that the products have been sent to Moscow, but have not yet reached the client. Meanwhile, the client has promised to pay only after receiving the products, and no money has been sent yet, which is why he is unable to pay salaries.

The sewing factory workers have also informed the regional governor about their unpaid wages and strike, but have yet to receive a response.
